Too Much Red?

I bought a frame for my road bike on ebay. When I did the bike fitting last year I learned that I needed a frame with a longer top tube and head tube. The 58cm Cannondale looked perfect. I really wanted a carbon frame but after missing a couple of used System 6 frames on ebay at about $850 I came across this CAAD 9 with the same geometry. It's a brand new frame I got for $400. I swapped all the components off my old Cannondale which was flat black. Do you think this is too much red? I just finished building it and haven't ridden it yet. Stay tuned.

TT Bike

I guess that, since I'm not doing triathlons anymore (I haven't actually said that out loud to anybody yet), I need to call my triathlon bike my time trial bike. I'm going to do a series of time trials in Southern Oregon in March. I'm also going to do some road races starting next month with the Cherry Pie race in Corvalis.

I've always loved this bike. It was the first bad ass bike I owned.
Stay tuned for news on my road bike.

New Year's Eve

We went up to Packer's Cabin with Frank and Sally again this year. This year we took the trailer. I took the afternoon off from my part time job so I could get everything ready. Susan didn't get home from work until 5:30 so I should have worked to earn some money for new bicycles. I wasn't very happy about driving into the mountains with my trailer in the dark but it was okay. We got there at about 7:30, set the trailer up, started dinner cooking and opened a bottle of wine. We had tamales that Susan had bought at a fund raiser with chili sauce I made and red tomato rice. And several bottles of wine. It was a very pleasant New Year's Eve with Frank and Sally and their grandson Tristan.
